The number of waves I've crested during my 25 year career as a mariner and Coast Guardsman are innumerable.

I had read about this place and had a certain vision for it and then there was construction, which obscured part of the comp that I had visioned. Plans dashed!? No way!

The Salk Institute of La Jolla is a perfect example of Destructive Architecture with leading lines everywhere, enabling me to make it work. Perhaps my next visit I'll be looking for some sunrise or sunset light. For black and white, the bright, overcast sky made for great tonality and lack of shadows.
