2 images stitched in PTGui
This site was restored a few years ago with the help of a Japanese crane manufacturer which later used its participation to claim that their crane even lifted history... a quick conclusion on Easter Island mystery !!!

Torture test on Easter island !
We just spent a few days on Easter island where we were authorised by the World Heritage Archaeological Park to KAP in exchange of a few specific images.
May is the worst time of the year to visit the island, for four days, the winds were blowing at a very unstable 25-30 knots with peaks to 35-40 knots ( we even registered 21 m/s which gives over 40 knots or force 8!) of course the rain and clouds were hiding the sun and even the flow form 8 was sometimes hard to control ! Those few days of intensive kaping was an excellent torture test on the kites, lines, gloves as well as our enthusiasm! Nevertheless we managed to get some images of some sites but unfortunately not the ones we were targeting, a good pretext to go back!
KAP and archaeology should be much easier in Tahiti, under the sun and where our trade winds are constant and soft… but we do not have any Moai !
Luckily we did not crash anything but the Rokkaku which made a beautiful “8” before diving to the ground during Heidy’s first auto kap flight !
Photo made from a Rc camera suspended on a kite string.
