Venus Point in Tahiti was named by Captain James Cook on June 05, 1769, when he first observed the transit of Venus and could watch the tiny black dot of the planet Venus moving across the disc of the sun.
Today, Venus Point is a black sand beach and a kite-surfer spot, very windy and this morning it was also the" transit of the kite" against the sun !!!
