Elusive Northern Rubber Ducky

I came upon the elusive Northern Rubber Ducky hanging out in a tree at Spermaceti Cove on Sandy Hook. Imagine my surprise seeing this handsome little fella, when all of his friends have already migrated south for the winter. It was a treat!

Polar Bear Ice Cream – Closed for Winter

What a fitting tribute on a day that began with a temperature of 14° and a wind-chill of 3°. I went to Sandy Hook to go Seal spotting. There was a super low tide, bright and sunny, heavy brutal winds out of the west … by no Seals. I made my way up to Middleton to check on a nesting pair of American Bald Eagles and again … Skunked! So this is it folks - - Polar Bear Ice Cream!
