Smock Family Burial Ground
Located at the junction of Long Bridge Rd. and Willowbrook about a quarter to a half mile south of Newman Springs Rd. (Rt 520) in Holmdel near the borders of Colts Neck and Middletown, the Smock Burying Ground sits in an open field. The stones are protected from moisture but have wasted away from age. Only a few remain and of these, very view are readable. Due to this isolated area, the cemetery has been vandalized several times, as recently as 1990's. The Smock Family Burial Ground has been placed on the 'National Register of Historic Places' by the U.S. Department of the Interior. |
