We went out hoping for a sunset, and yes, we did catch the setting sun, but the colours lasted for around 10-15 minutes and that was that, no lingering gold skies or anything more worth staying out for, home early for a cuppa :)

I'd timed it to be there for the moon rising on the shoulder of the rock, as always, the best laid plans can go wrong. It was 15 minutes before the moon crept over the bank of low cloud😣 ah well, it turned out ok in the end! I love these twilight moonrises.

Stood out in the freezing cold last night to watch the aurora unfurl over the horizon. Not the biggest or most colourful display I've seen, but with a very clear sky the stars and milky way were putting on a show of their own.

Pennan is a single row of houses, we get loads of visitors because of the location, it's where all the harbour and exterior hotel scenes were filmed for Local Hero, the star of the film was a red phone box and although not the box from the film (that was a prop) our phone box gets literally 1000s of people arriving each year to have their photo taken "talking to Houston" :)
