Daily Photo - Ripping Through the World
I know everyone has their own various tastes for HDR, and mine is all over the map! Sometimes I really feel artsy and go crazy with one, like this car above. It's hard with awesome cars... because the reflectivity in HDR is so off the map.

I've been meaning to get to one of those high-end car shows and go crazy with my tripod. I've heard the Concours d'Elegance in Pebble Beach is really one of the best in the world... but maybe you all know of some other stellar car shows you can recommend?

New Video Tomorrow!
We posted a behind-the-scenes video a few days ago, and a new one is coming tomorrow. You can see previous ones on the Videos page.

Updated Woopra Video Review (Thanks London!)
I recently updated my Woopra Review, which is a cool real-time analytics tool for your website or blog. I recommend it! You can try it for free and be up and running in just 10 minutes after a visit to the Woopra site.

Want to see other popular reviews?

The Reviews section of the site is filling up fast! I only review stuff that I actually use, but I find myself using more and more stuff! Also, I figure that most people don't have time to wade through a hundred reviews, and you just want the best stuff out there... that's what I focus on - The Best Stuff!

Some recent popular reviews include the Nik Software Review, the Woopra Review, and the still-growing Nikon 85mm Review.

Nikon D3S

It's a great camera. It's so great I bought one to be a backup for my D3X. Truthfully, it's more than just a backup -- well, rather than repeat myself, you can read the full thing on the Nikon D3S Review page.

A Night with Harley
These bikes are really a fun subject for photography. I get excited every time I head out for one of these events. There are so many styles, customizations, and characters behind them... you never see the same thing twice.

Setting up for these photos is also somewhat of a fun challenge. Getting the right "background" is very important to me... sometimes it just does not work out, so I have to move on and leave a pretty bike alone. The other thing about these bikes, which you don't realize until you take thousands of photos of them, is that you probably only have a 12.5% chance of getting a good composition and background. I break it down thusly:

Read the breakdown and some info on wide-angle lenses at the Stuck in Customs blog!

After the book party in Chicago (thanks again for all of you that showed up!), we had a little photowalk the next day. Along the way, we stopped outside an office building near Michigan Avenue that had this enormous metal moose. I'm not a big fan of taking photos of art, but this was an exception.

The rest of this entry, as well as plugs for a few eBooks by friends of mine, is here.
