They call the lion the "King of the Jungle" but I don't know why because they don't live in jungles. This "King of the Jungle" fact was one of the only facts I knew about lions and it turns out to not even be true at all. There are jungles in Africa (well, not here in Botswana), but that's where all the gorillas are. So I think maybe gorillas should be called the king of the jungle. Anyway, this is a female lion and she was taking care of her two cubs. The females also do almost all the hunting. Well, the females do pretty much everything. This was confirmed when we spent most of the day watching the male lions and they did absolutely nothing. One walked up on a log for a few minutes and then decided to go take a nap for 20 hours. Meanwhile, the female lion was out taking down animals right and left to make sure her cubs were taken care of. I'll post some photos of the cubs soon... sadly two of the babies were already killed so only two remain.
