A candid shot of my daughter sporting her new hat.
--
This is a genre of photography I want to do more of and experiment with some outside flash.

Male and Female Kingfisher ( Alcedo atthis )

Also known as the Common Kingfisher, Eurasian Kingfisher or River Kingfisher.
--
The female (right) is playing with a fresh catch, she is identical in appearance to the male (left) except that her lower mandible is orange-red with a black tip.
--
It was magical watching and photographing the behaviours and actions of these wee gems of nature.

Delighted getting a few shots of a pair on the same perch.

Eurasian Nuthatch (Sitta europaea)
--
A shot from my recent encounter with these little beauties.

Great to see them so close and they were happy to come and take a few nuts I provided for them.
Love how they touch the nut with their tongue.

Pleased to have got this side on pose as with this aperture and focal length, the depth of field is so shallow.

Sigma 50-500mm f/4-6.3 EX DG HSM @ 313mm, natural light.

With a colourful mix of blue, yellow, white and green makes the blue tit one of our most attractive and most recognisable garden visitors.

This little blue flitted about fluffing itself up on this bonny perch.
