We went to the Jade Buddha Temple, which was right near where we were staying. It was a very interesting glimpse into another culture, even though we didn't really understand a lot of what was gonig on.

Hangzhou had lots of public open spaces and parks. It was a very charming city of 8,000,000 or so people.

After leaving Shanghai, we spent a night in Hangzhou. It was very nice, and the only problem was that we only had one night.
