Toast as Picture of the Day? Was it a slow day? Yes, sorta, but I love toast. I'm also starting a blog about toast, my favorite food.
Check it out here: sitztoast.blogspot.com/

This toast has cream cheese, pineapple, and black beans. It's where Mexico meets Hawaii!

After working on the Formerly Crappy Casita, I took a couple of pictures in the yard.

I can't think of a more appropriate picture for Independence Day in the United States than this one. It's also a good way to ring in my new blog dedicated to toast: sitztoast.blogspot.com
This is a piece of toast with fried cheese, served with Gallo Pinto (a fancy name that Costa Ricans give to rice and beans) plus some lime.

I'm not sure what this thing is called in English, but here it's called a "cepillo," despite the fact that it's obviously not a brush. In any case, it's an ancient Spanish torture tool used to scrape slivers off of wood and skin off of knuckles. I borrowed it from my brother-in-law Ronald because I was having trouble with a door in the Formerly Crappy Casita that wouldn't close.

I made this thing from old wood and the leftover PVC lattice thing from the Formerly Crappy Casita. Nails, bolts, sawdust, primer, paint... I'm actually impressed I made it myself. I'd say it's the nicest thing I've ever made, but I think it's the ONLY nice thing I've ever made. It's both superlative and singular.
I'm just not sure what it is, though.
