During a 5 day visit to Brittany for a wedding, a few of us made a day trip up to the Crozon peninsula. We planned to visit 3 of the scenic points at the western end of the peninsula: Cap de la Chèvre, Pointe de Penhir and Pointe de Dinan.

At our first stop at Cap de la Chèvre, we were greeted by clear skies and warm sun -- both rarities in Brittany -- and so decided to clamber down the cliffside to get to the beach you see in the midground of this photo.

Later on in the day we drove further North along the coastline and reached Pointe de Penhir which is the ridge you can see just below the horizon in this photo. The sunset we experienced among the cliffs, stacks and raging surf was extremely memorable.

This is a 2-photo panorama of horizontal frames.

The sun silently retreats to the sibilant roar of the Atlantic battering Brittany's precipitous coastline.

The Crozon peninsula in Western Brittany offers some wonderful coastal scenery. From endless sandy beaches ensconced in quiet harbours to strident cliffs battered by the full force of the Atlantic, there are views to match every mood.

This photo was taken a few short minutes before sunset at Pointe de Pen-Hir after we had spent the preceding hours jumping around the dizzyingly high rock stacks. This photo is a stitch of several photos shot at 17mm and then merged into a rectilinear projection in Photoshop.
