The view of Mirissa beach from Girigala Rock.

Mirissa is a beach on the South coast of Sri Lanka and is one of the best in the country. When this photo was taken it was relatively unknown and so didn't suffer the problems usually found in overly touristy places. Sadly, this is now changing.

This panorama is 77 megapixels large and was made by combining 23 vertically oriented photos.

The sun sets for the last time in 2008 on the beach at Mirissa. A few hours later, on the same beach, we welcomed in 2009. Best end of year celebrations ever :)

2008 brought many great photo opportunities, especially in Madeira and Andalucia but 2009 was probably even better. Trips to the Scottish Highlands, Provence and a week in Iceland all provided many great photos. I'll be uploading them here soon.
