Most of the fjordside houses in Norway were colourful. This one stood out for other reasons as well.
I was lucky that a gap in the clouds illuminated the house in the foreground but left the distant mountains in a moody gloom. It might be hard to believe but the house in the foreground was around 200m away while the mountains in the distance are over 10km away. The little stubs you see on the nearer (on the right) mountain are full grown trees.

Segovia is separated from Madrid by the ridge of mountains visible in this photo. Even when this photo was taken in May, there was still some ice on the crests of the range. The coach ride to Segovia from Madrid involves crossing this ridge which is was a lovely trip through the clouds.

In order to provide road access to the small towns on the fjord ridges, the roads need to double back on themselves sharply over and over again.
Apologies to those who are sick of seeing rainbows in my photostream, but another one snuck in here!

You'll find a waterfall almost anywhere in the fjords if you look closely enough. The telephoto lens made the forefround and background seem a lot closer than they actually were, so the waterfalls in this image aren't as small as they seem.
