Dark clouds skid off the tops of the peaks around Kvalvika Beach in Lofoten.

After arriving on the Lofoten archipelago the sun was shining and we hoped to get somewhere quickly to enjoy the unusually good weather. After a short drive we dropped off our bags at our Airbnb, and hiked to this nearby beach. Although we enjoyed a light peppering of rain for the duration of the hike we hoped that it was just a passing cloud.

It wasn't :-) The beach was still very dramatic and the swiftly moving clouds added to the atmosphere. We spent a few minutes taking photos (as you can see near the bottom of this frame) before heading back for a warm supper.

A few days later we returned when the sun was shining and while that was stunning too, the overcast and chilly conditions of our first visit seemed a more appropriate match for this rugged landscape.
