As the night descends and the mist gathers, a little church shines through the darkness.

This is my second photo of this picturesque church framed with Monte Civetta in the background, this time at dusk and from a slightly better location. It's easy to forget just how massive these mountains are as you drive around the Italian Dolomites until you see a speck in the distance and realise that it is a building. What makes the contrast in size even more impressive is that the church was only 3km away while the mountain itself was 13km away. This is also apparent in the sizes of the trees on the mountain's flank and by the church.

A few minutes later the clouds had blocked all sight of the mountain and a shortly after that, everything was pitch black.
