As it turns out, it's a Tabebuia tree. I had to look it up, but I didn't have to think twice about shooting it. The stunning yellow was a beckon for my camera and me.

Because the flowers tumbled as they fell, it was impossible to capture them tack sharp.

The sunset didn't happen like I had hoped, but never the less Thor's Well did not disappoint. This is a massive rock hole, about 25 feet across, that fills from underneath and over the top when the tide is coming in. Water comes up through the top as much as it flows down into this well. And, of course, its not located in a convenient spot, approximately 50 yards offshore on the edge of a rocky shelf.
Being out there knowing both that the tide and waves are getting stronger and closer, as well as the fact that this can make a really cool shot, is a pure adrenaline rush.
