Freebird
Lynyrd Skynyrd

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?

For I must be traveling on now
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see

But, if I stay here with you, girl
Things just couldn't be the same

'Cause, I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

And the bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows I can't change

On the way back from Mrs macs yesterday, we decided to drop by St Peters to shoot this colourful scene.

A little birdy perched itself on top of the building for us just as we were shooting the scene.

Hope you like "Freebird"
Cheers, Mike

Cape Woolamai | VIC | Australia

This was taken after the sun had set, and I was just left with the twilight afterglow. Over the millennia, chunks of rock fall off these distinctive formations, then end up being churned into sphere-like objects by the waves you can see rolling in relentlessly. It's a fascinating place, and I could never get tired of shooting here.

King Of Pain
The Police

I have stood here before inside the pouring rain
With the world turning circles running 'round my brain
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain

There's a fossil that's trapped in a high cliff wall
(That's my soul up there)
There's a dead salmon frozen in a waterfall
(That's my soul up there)
There's a blue whale beached by a springtide's ebb
(That's my soul up there)
There's a butterfly trapped in a spider's web
(That's my soul up there)

I have stood here before inside the pouring rain
With the world turning circles running 'round my brain
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain

Anyone who is a personal friend of mine on Facebook, will understand why I titled this image the way I did.
Was a challenging shoot to get this image after my little "trip"

So, specs for this image. Its a 3 image stack. there was a very slight breeze at the location, which was moving the leaves of the ferns ever so slightly..so...

Image one shot at F7.1, ISO 2000, to freeze the ferns in the foreground which I focused on.

Image two shot at F7.1, ISO 2000 to freeze everything in the background which I focused on

Image three shot at F11, ISO 100, to give a slightly longer exposure time for the waterfall. Focused on the rock near the waterfall

Stacked and blended in Photoshop.

Adobe Camera Raw Noise Reduction used to eliminate the noise on both the ISO 2000 images. The job this function does in getting rid of the noise, whilst retaining the detail is absolutely unbelievable.

Hope you like "King Of Pain"
Cheers, Mike

A trip to South Australia and flying onto William Creek where we were based to do some aerial photography of Kati Thanda (Lake Eyre). What an amazing time seeing water in the lake and some greenery in the surrounding country. We named this the "Brain" for obvious reasons. This image has our sister plane below us for a little perspective as we gain altitude to get the whole basin in the frame.
