For project 1, town and country, I wanted to express the way the different locations we have visited have made me feel. In the country, in places such as Umbria and Corciano, I felt very at peace, as though I belonged and played a wonderful part amongst the landscape. In the towns, in places like Florence and Rome, I felt as though it was very easy to get swept up with all of the people, vehicles, and overall busyness. It was overwhelming and very large, making me feel isolated.

Continuing with the idea of isolation, I played on the idea of anonymity and turned myself into a stranger. Just a figure, with no identity. I also compared my body with the giant columns to exaggerate how small I feel.

Taken at the Vatican with the help of the ever patient Kelly, who stood forever with me waiting for the space to be clear of people.
