I am going to post some photographs of Morocco. This is a country Portuguese people visit very frequently, because it is close and also because of historic reasons. Portugal started to occupy parts of coastal Morocco since 1415. There are still signs of Portuguese occupation. For this particular post, I chose a place known as the Cistern, part of a fortress, both built by the Portuguese, therefore called the Portuese City. It has several items of interest including ramparts, Christian churches, and a synagogue. But the gem of this jewel box is the atmospheric cistern, used by Orson Welles in his version of Othello.
More information...

I visited this country for the first time last week and I loved it. I hope you will enjoy these photographs as well.

Casablanca.
It is the largest mosque in Africa, and the 5th largest in the World. It has a minaret with 210 metres, the highest in the World. Completed in 1993, designed by Michel Penseau and built by Bouyges. A Mosque open to non-Muslims.

This was one of my best moments in Morocco. People told me not to expect great things from Casablanca, but what I found was far beyond my expectations. Loved this city and this mosque!

El Jadida. Morocco.
As I told you in a previous photograph of this trip to Morocco, there are still signs of Portuguese occupation in this country. The name of this Restaurant "Café do Mar" was one of those signs we gladly acknowledged. A pity it was closed, because we were already anticipating a good Portuguese meal...

Essaouira was a Portuguese possession, Mogador. "In 1506, the king of Portugal, D. Manuel I, ordered a fortress to be built there, named Castelo Real de Mogador" (Wikipedia).

Loved this small city in the atlantic coast. Visiting the medina and the market (the souk) was much more pleasant, as they were not so crowded and the sellers did not press us to buy.

From my holidays in Morocco. I'm missing these sunny days in this beautiful country.

Holidays, travel and photography (and FLICKR) fit together... We travel and photograph and later we remember our holidays through the photographs we made, and this way, we can spend endless and very enjoyable moments. Well, this Winter, I've stayed at home all these rainy days and thanks God I've thousands of photographs to organize.

Flickr became my favourite tool to organize all my stuff in albums and collections. I have uploaded to Flickr 57,554 Photos (only 6,049 are public), and I still have many more to upload. In short, Flickr became my CLOUD and I make the most of the ORGANIZE tool. I even use Flickr to SHARE my photographs on Instagram, Facebook and others... It is my central web plataform. I cannot imagine living without Flickr...

And you? Do you use Flickr to organize your photographs and as your storage device, your cloud?
