The new Conrad Prebys Australian Outback exhibit, opened on May 24th, contains 23 different species of birds, but I like this one the most. This was a lucky shot and not the best image quality, but I love it anyway.
The exhibit cost $7.4 million to build and Conrad Prebys donated $4 million of that, so it was named after him. Thanks, Conrad! Everybody loves it.
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree
Merry merry king of the bush is he
Gay your life must be.
We sang that song so many time is our church youth group, while I was in high school, that I can still remember the words. Sometimes, we sang it as a round, which was pretty fun, too. Of course, I didn't know what a Kookaburra was at the time.
The other one in the cage was eating a baby rat, so he wasn't quite as cute.
