We don't have snow, but we have Snowberries.
I had neither seen nor heard of these berries until I saw this shot in my contacts' photos and even then, I suspected that they might be a hoax, because they look so much like they're made out of snow. But last Saturday morning, as I was running a practice trail with my Bloodhound, Jessie, I saw a bunch of these out of the corner of my eye and remembered Lynne's photo (well, I actually forgot who's photo it was that I had seen for a while, but I remembered seeing them) and I knew just what they were (except that I thought they were called snowballs).

If I had known what this was at the time, I would have smelled it, because I like the smell of the domestic Alliums. Of course, you don't have to get very close to Alliums to be able to detect their odor. They smell like onions. Surprisingly, I hate onions.
