Chestnut-breasted Malkoha (Phaenicophaeus curvirostris).

Generally speaking, the San Diego Zoo does an outstanding job of keeping their animals happy, but this guy was an example of how perfection is impossible, since he kept jumping from branch to branch, in a repetitive pattern. I felt sorry for him, but at the same time, glad for myself, once I learned that I could compose around and focus on one of the branches in his pattern and he would come back to it in a short time. Had to work fast, though, because he didn't stay there long. Another issue I had to deal with was that every time he lit, the branch would dip, due to his weight. Then there was shooting through the wire cage and waiting until there were catchlights in his eyes. All things considered, it was a very interesting and fun experience.
