[Posted in 7/09] PC sends his love to my friend Jeanie (J Bespoy), who lost her cat, Survasa, yesterday. Survasa's passing made me very sad, because I felt like I knew her through all the photos that Jeannie posted, but it also served as a reminder that I need to shoot more pictures of PC and our other pets. This two year old image, that I reprocessed for the occasion, is from the last time that I photographed him and as he is about the same age as Survasa was, I should shoot him again while he is still with us.

[Update 12/29/09] PC passed away on 12/26/09. He's in a better place, now, free from the earthly effects of old age and back again with his brother, MAC. Rest in peace, PC and MAC. We'll be up there to join you, before you know it.

This is my 9-year old Seal Point Siamese, Gaucho. Both he and his house-mate, Aja, are male Traditional Siamese and both are named for Steely Dan albums and songs. We got both of them at the same time from this breeder. Gaucho is three weeks older than Aja. We thought Aja was a female until we took took him to the vet to be spayed and they said, "Not so much." The breeder kept saying how she was going to be a BIG cat and at least she got that part right.

You can see the really fine detail and narrow DOF if you view this in original size. I'm lovin' my new 135mm f/2.0 portrait lens! It was so dark that even at 1600 ISO and F/2.0, it was only at 1/80th of a second and this was hand-held, with no image stabilization.
