Southwest Search Dogs welcomes another new puppy into its membership! Zack attended his first training, yesterday, just a couple of days after arriving from a long road trip from Iowa, with his new family. Due to his young age, the training consisted of socialization with the surroundings, the people, the other dogs, and of course, the photo shoot.

If you think shooting black dogs is hard, try doing it in a high contrast situation, with an active puppy, hand-held (the camera, not the puppy), and 160mm, f/2.8 at 1/50! This capture is a little soft, but at least, his eyes are sort of sharp, and I think the soft focus works in this case.
