View to the East. Pamo Valley is a pretty little Live Oak-lined canyon, north of Ramona, California, which is about 20 minutes Southeast of the San Diego Wild Animal Park. The weather there yesterday couldn't have been better - cool in the morning, requiring a light jacket, but it warmed up to about 75°, with a very slight breeze, within a couple of hours. Apparently, very few people know about this place, because we didn't see anyone else outside of our search dog group.

Burned by the 2003 Paradise Fire, which burned 56,700 Acres, there is still visible damage to the oaks, but at least they're still alive. There are also Sycamores and the tiny Santa Ysabel Creek in the valley. The creek is big enough to have quicksand along its banks, however, as I personally discovered during a previous visit.
