Variation2

This image was taken at Ellison Park during an event organized by Historic Brighton. The event focused on Indian landing, the "Lost City of Tryon" and nearby historic homes. Indian Landing had been a trading stop for hundreds of years before the Erie Canal was constructed. The City of Tryon, layed out in the late 18th century and developed proximate to the Landing, was more or less abandoned when the Erie Canal become the primary route for commerce between - you guessed it - Al-ban-y a-nd Buf-fa-loooo.

Mary Jo Lanphear, Brighton Town Historian, is standing on the left. She talked about the area during the ride.
