Well, with the volcano near the end of its run, here is my encounter with the lava flowing into the Natthagi valley. We hiked rout B, a few days after the lava gut route A, and got a side view of lava flowing out of the crater (but nothing like the show the volcano will put our in late August -September, or earlier in May). However, on the way back, we were told about a lava front not far from were we were so we turned left and met this slow moving, 2000 degree melted rock front. Unforgettable experience... listen to the glass barking sounds in the Macro segment (almost melted my face, but the D6 and 105, left alone, handled it well). Enjoy...
Update: by November of 2021, the eruption was over. Those of us that witnessed it are very fortunate indeed..
