Tibetan woodcarving date back to the seventh century, what you see in this picture is present day.
The entrance of Detsa Trashi Chöding ལྡེ་ཚ་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཆོས་སྡིངས།, is a well-respected active Gelukpa monastery that was founded in 1903 by the Fourth Sharma Pandita Gendun Tendzin Gyatso. Here you find the best woodcarving on a Tibetan monastery in Tibet (still under construction at present day). The pillars are one meter across and the skillful carvings are some three meters long. Its worth a visit. It lies in the county of Bayan Khar བ་ཡན་མཁར་.

There are three kinds of wood carvings: decorative carvings on buildings, scripture-edition carvings and mould carvings. Various exquisite woodcarvings decorate Tibetan beams, pillars and temple niches. Woodcarvings also appear on beams, pillars and windows in many homes.

A butterfly is a mainly day-flying insect of the order Lepidoptera, the butterflies and moths. Like other holometabolous insects, the butterfly's life cycle consists of four parts, egg, larva, pupa and adult. Most species are diurnal. Butterflies have large, often brightly coloured wings, and conspicuous, fluttering flight. The monastery of Jakhyung Shedrubling lies on a ridge overlooking the River Ma Chu (Yellow river). This is one of the most historic and renowned Gelukpa monasteries of Amdo, founded in 1349 by Lama Dondrub Rinchen, the teacher of Tsongkhapa. The attractive monastery is situated in a small forest zone.
