This Squacco Heron was a delight to photgraph. It started about 50 meteres away and finally flew away when it was only about 5 meters away.

The rice fields have been seeded adn flooded and the herons are having no problem finding food. This Grey Heron had no trouble with this snake. It was done before I could get by larger lens out.

This purple heron took a long time to kill and eat this snake. We watched it from capture to finish and it was over 13 minutes.

We don't think this cattle egret finished this snake. It dropped it in the rice field and flew away.
