Image Description: |
During a recent trip to Writing on Stone P.P. , we came across a badger. I have seen a few over the years, but this was the first tine I got to photograph one. There are only about 1000 of this subspieces found in the prairie provinces left in Canada and less than 500 total of the other three sub-species. We were fortunately downwind. We parked about 30 meters away from the burrow. Badgers have poor eyesight so when it would pop it's head out of the hole and if we were quiet, it would come out. Any sudden movement or noise sent it back into the burrow. |
