The Osprey was in the midst of rebuilding its nest after it was taken down by a utility company. With about 960mm of focal length (35mm equiv.) to keep my distance, the Osprey was well within the frame with clip wings. I cropped in tighter to recompose. The photo was taken during the time when we had strong winds and cloudy condition back in spring. Enjoy!

The main photo shows the Osprey just got out of the water without a fish. With the backlighting, the image would typically be soft and awful, I find, depending on the scene/situation, but it turned out better than I thought.

I've also included two more photos of the Osprey at different times in the comment box below.

Enjoy!

Last time, I got the Osprey fishing out of the pond. This time, it dived in at the far end of the pond, so I didn't get the capture of the fishing action. However, I was lucky enough to capture the Osprey flying off with a trout. The angle of the shot was perfect with a great background and good lighting.

This is my third encounter (Recalling encounter #1 and #2.) of an Osprey grabbing a trout off a local pond, and I wasn't really looking for them either. Must be an Osprey year for me this year! Although I skipped posting a few frames just to make each shot more interesting, all shots were keepers; they were sharp from start to finish, and each shot sharp from edge to edge!

The lead shot is probably my most favourite with the unique wing position above the head and still plenty of water splashes behind the bird. This may be my last Osprey series for the season. I hope everyone enjoys these photos just as much as I enjoy photographing this series! Thanks!
