Tip of the day: Never lock your car doors if you're shooting wildlife near your car, especially when you're in an open area.
The above shot was one of those divebombing moments at a low angle by the Swainson's Hawk. It was also my fastest dive into my car's driver seat with some profane words on the way.
I saw a pair of these Swainson's Hawks flying not too high and next to the road. So I made a U-turn, and stopped at the side of the road. When I got out of the car and stood next to the rear side of my car, this hawk started to divebomb me from across the road. I totally didn't expect that! In fact the hawk flew in several times even when I was sitting inside my car with my lens sticking out.
