This is the new Voigtlander SL series 40mm f2.0 Nokton Aspherical. It comes with IC chip in the lens for use on later Nikons and DSLR's. I like the hood and the close up lens screws in to the front of the filter! Nice design and idea.

The close up attachment comes with the lens and it is one of the most brilliant solutions on how to attach it! You screw it into the front of the hood!

Does the close up diopter work on the 40mm. This is at its closest setting and f22. Very sharp and though slightly contrasty (probably a combination of film/developer and the Aspherical construction of the lens) it would be a neat lens for general use (fast enough) and for occasional close up work.

My film/camera "tag" board. As I load a camera, I write down which lens/camera is being used. Usually first two frames of a roll. This is with the Nokton 40mm f2.0 at its closest focussing distance, without the close up diopter. F2@125. It is definitely sharp enough!
