It was so cool seeing camels when we got to Mongolia! I took this shot on our first day there as we were driving out to the mountains. Dappled light made for an interesting background. Bactrian Camels have two humps and grow a thick winter coat this time of year to survive the harsh temperatures. The larger their humps, the greater their fat reserves. As we got higher in elevation, we were photographing camels in the snow - definitely not the landscape I normally associate camels with!
Just a few days ago at Shore Acres in Oregon. Big thanks goes to the brave/stupid soul that stood under that crashing wave to add some scale to my image. I don't judge. I've done the same moronic deeds (even on that day) so I understand the lure of wanting to make direct contact with those elements.
I vlogged the whole encounter so you can look forward to an upcoming episode where you witness this wave in action.
Trust me when I tell you, this was NOT the biggest wave to hit that day. I've got other images of bigger waves but I chose this moment because of that juicy storm light.
