Chania is a 14th century city in Crete, it's renowned for its Venetian harbour, narrow streets, 16th century lighthouse and waterfront restaurants. On the day we visited a strong wind was blowing in and whipping up the water which was washing over the wall. This meant anyone walking around the waterfront risked getting wet feet at a minimum. If you're wondering, yes I did get wet whilst taking this shot, the things I do for a photo. :-)

It's been a while since I've been on Flickr, there are lots of reasons for this but essentially I've not been getting out with the camera that much lately.
Anyway I've just had a week in Crete and consequently have a few new photos to share. We had a bit of rough weather on a couple of days which made for some interesting opportunities with the camera.
I'll try and get up with as many of you as I can.

As I said in my previous post the wind was whipping up the sea whilst we were in Chania. It certainly provided some drama hence the mono treatment again.

I saw a number of these beauties on Crete, but they were mostly on the wing. So when I spotted this one feeding I had to try for a short. Interestingly they flutter their wings a lot when feeding, however this one suddenly paused for a few seconds allowing me to get this open wing shot.

A new species for me. I found a number of these lovely little dragons on a piece of ground just behind the beach in Crete.
