Last weekend, during our drive to Mysore, we saw this amazing sunset across the paddy fields near Somanathapura and got one more reason to stop take a photograph. The intention was to shoot the sunset across the paddy field. But when i stepped in to the field, this spider caught my attention. Pulled out the macro lens and when i looked through the view finder, the blurry colors of sunset forced me to get this shot at any cost despite of blood-sucking mosquitoes and jumpy spider. Finally i succeeded after losing a litre of blood :-)

Can anything be better than a closeup shot of a Sunflower? I think this is the best macro shot i have ever took. As i said earlier, i have used almost all the lens to get a best picture when we passed by this sunflower farm near Kurnool. This is another one from the same set.
It was bit difficult to take this shot as it was windy and i don't want to compromise on ISO. Finally i could get something worth posting here.
Kurnool is located 350 km north of Bengaluru on National Highway 7 and Sunflower is one of the major crops in that region of Andhra Pradesh.

The rear view mirror of the motorcycle flew off. Had to travel through rough roads on a rainy night. Didn't get accommodation at the place we wanted to stay. Had to travel 60 km through a wildlife reserve to the nearest town in heavy rain. Had troubles finding a hotel. Camera LCD stopped working. Every other part of the Motorcycle started making noise. Stranded at a road side restaurant for almost 4 hours on the way back because of rain.
But against all odds we could complete a photo journey of 650 km last weekend. Did any of the above things disappoint me. Not really. Despite of all setbacks, i can say it is one of the best road trips i have ever had. Detailed map of the trip at goo.gl/d4jI
Next Steps - Posting all those photographs, Giving my motorcycle for servicing, Get the camera LCD fixed and of course keep moving!

Whether it is my first macro shot or first shot at macro, it was entertaining seeing so much of detail through the view finder while testing my new Tamron Macro lens.
It looked like normal patch of grass on top of Shravanabelagola mountain, but there were numerous caterpillars spread around the whole grass patch. I realized it's time to test the macro lens and more or less i got satisfying results despite of the windy conditions.
