Barbour's Tropical Ground Snake, Trimetopon barbouri, a diminutive and rare colubrid endemic to central Panama.

Köhler's Reptiles of Central America (2003) lacks a photo of this species and the range map shows only the locality where the holotype was collected. The 2008 edition features photographs of that preserved holotype. This snake seems to be exceedingly rare, although its small size and nocturnal habits have probably caused it to be overlooked. Few images of the the living animal exist. I had initially misidentified this specimen as a Tantilla.
