Rose.

This uses the same three layers as for Particoloured Rose, with the second layer blended with Contrast Negate in Affinity Photo and the top layer with Luminosity.

By this time I was feeling it was almost too easy. So to increase the realism I merged the bottom two layers under the topmost and used a Displacement Map filter based on the top layer only. This moves the patterning in sympathy with the top layer, making it look as if it's painted on the petals. It also needed a bit of Gaussian blur to get rid of some pixellation.

At this stage it looked very much like the Particoured Rose version so I changed the colour with and HSL layer. A bit of sharpening and Brightness/Contrast and we are done.

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Sliders Sunday :)

This uses the same three layers as for Particoloured Rose, but the second layer blended with Colour Burn and the top layer with Darker Colour. No sharpening or anything else. As simple as it gets for a playtime :)

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Sliders Sunday :)

This uses the same three layers as for Particoloured Rose, but the second layer blended with Subtract and the top layer with Colour Dodge. No sharpening or anything else, though I did add a Brightness/Contrast layer to bring up the darks a bit.

I rather like this though I doubt that it will be many people's favourite.

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Sliders Sunday :)

Rose.

This is a brief play for Sliders Sunday. I'll post a comment to the original in-camera image in the first comment.

This was almost embarassingly simple to create. No colour changes were done using filters in the processing.

Basically I took the processed image and duplicated it. I transformed the new layer by increasing its size but keeping the rosette concentric with the original. I then did the same again ending up with three layers, all of increasing size.

The layer above the background was blended using Contrast Negate in Afffinity Photo, which added the colour. The topmost layer (the most expanded) was blended using Luminosity which gave the shape and form to the image but picked up the colour from underneath.

That was basically it, though I did add a Gaussian blur layer (0.3 pixel) between layers two and three to reduce pixellation of the contrast negate blend. The top layer only was sharpened using Clarity and High Pass/Linear blend mode just to sharpen the whole look.

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Sliders Sunday :)
