One of the two „emerald gems“ of the Dominican Republic. The narrow-billed can be told from the broad-billed tody by its pale eyes, black tip to underside of the bill and lack of yellowish wash on the belly, although they can have some yellow on the undertail coverts. Overall the narrow-billed tends to look cleaner white below in my opinion. It also lives at higher elevations above 700 meters whereas the broad- billed is generally found lower down.
