Desde Friburgo, ciudad considerada como la entrada a la Selva Negra alemana, hay una escapada ineludible hacia el lago Titisee, que yo recomiendo encarecidamente.
Dice la leyenda que el lago Titisee debe su nombre al general romano Titus. Éste pasó por la Alta Selva Negra con sus legiones, y maravillado por sus paisajes le dio nombre al lago.
El Titisee es el mayor lago natural de la Selva Negra. Tiene 2 Km. de largo, 700 metros de anchura y una profundidad de 20 metros. Con una altitud de 858 metros. Rodeado por el monte Hochfirst y por el monte Feldberg, de donde procede el río Seebach que atraviesa el lago.
En verano se realizan todo tipo de deportes acuáticos: pesca, remo, vela, surf e incluso bañarse. Desde el embarcadero principal podemos tomar un barco que da la vuelta al lago, o incluso se puede pasear por senderos que lo rodean. En invierno el lago suele congelarse, y es costumbre patinar sobre hielo.
La gastronomía de Titisee se basa especialmente en los productos tradicionales de la Selva Negra. Sus cervezas son impresionantes, sin olvidarnos de los riquísimos postres tan tradicionales como el Pastel de Selva Negra elaborado con cerezas, chocolate y chantilly... EXQUISITO !!!

From Freiburg, a city regarded as the gateway to the Black Forest in Germany, there is an inescapable getaway to Lake Titisee, which I highly recommend.
Legend has it that the lake Titisee is named after the Roman general Titus says. It went through the Black Forest with his legions, and marveled at the landscape gave its name to the lake.

In summer you can do all kinds of water sports: fishing, rowing, sailing, surfing and even bathing. From the main pier we can take a boat that goes around the lake, or can even wander trails that surround it. In winter the lake is usually frozen, and ice skating.
The cuisine of Titisee is especially based on the traditional products of the Black Forest. Their beers are stunning, not to mention the delicious traditional desserts such as Black Forest cake made with cherries, chocolate and chantilly ... EXQUISITE !!!
