El Lago de la Casa de Campo es un ecosistema acuático emblemático para la ciudad de Madrid, y un remanso de paz. El uso de este estanque es ornamental, recreativo y deportivo. Es posible alquilar barcas de recreo o subirse en un pequeño barco a motor. También hay una escuela de piragüismo, cuyas instalaciones fueron inauguradas en 1991. El Lago está rodeado por una docena de quioscos de bebidas y comidas y dispone en el centro de un gran surtidor de agua visible desde toda la cornisa oeste de la ciudad.
La Casa de campo es también conocida como el “Pulmón verde de Madrid”.

The Lake of the Country House is an aquatic emblematic ecosystem for the city of Madrid, and an backwater of peace. The use of this pond is ornamental, recreative and to sports. It is possible to rent boats of playtime or to sail in a small ship to engine. Also there is a school of piragüismo, whose facilities were inaugurated in 1991. The Lake is surrounded by a dozen of restaurants, and arranges in the center of a great spout of visible water from the whole cornice west of the city.
The Country house is known also as the "green Lung of Madrid".
