Rainier was completely blocked by fog when I first arrived at Reflection Lakes early this morning. As the sunrise progressed though the mists lifted rewarding my patience with a nice moody reflective shot of this massive mountain.

I'm off on another road trip to Mt. Rainier National Park. I'll be away for a few weeks. No cell service there so will be off the grid.

I planned last winter to arrive when the wildflowers are popping as I was later in the season last time. However, major wildfires are all around us. The entire WA state is under an unhealthy smoke level. Worst I've ever seen it. Wouldn't you know it...... a big trip planned and landscapes will be poor and hard breathing isn't recommended so will have to limit some of my planned hikes. Mother Nature is always the Boss though, she controls the conditions. Wildflowers, waterfalls and sunrise/sunsets will still be good enough. Hopefully the fires will be controlled and the air will clear soon. Regardless it will be wonderful to be here and enjoy what we can.

Thanks for taking a look! Always appreciated.

Clouds, gotta love clouds. I sure do, even when they portend windy storms and havoc. Like this fine dawn with stormy clouds roiling over Mt. Heyburn and some of the Sawtooths reflected in the smooth waters of Little Redfish Lake before they turned into whipped whitecaps and waves. Wonderful!

Thanks for taking a look! Always appreciated.

Friday's here! Have a wonderful day and weekend!

A view of the highest peak in North America as seen from the Petersville road.

Denali is 20,310 feet (6,190 meters) above sea level, also making it the third highest of the Seven Summits — the highest mountains on each of the seven continents — following Mount Everest in Nepal and Aconcagua in Argentina.

Back from a marvelous long road trip thru British Columbia, Yukon to Alaska. 7025 miles, many of them some of the worst I've ever driven (mainly in the Yukon). Coping with the frost heaves and permafrost is a never ending challenge up there.

As a Peak "pic" Bagger this was a moving moment to see. Seeing it was a primary objective of my trip. Took 6 days for it to clear, but was well worth it.

It's windy, wet and cold up there. Who knew? ;-))
Approximately 2/3 of my trip was rainy with a few days of heavy snow. Passed up many a beautiful scene as conditions weren't right for a shot. Mother Nature rules and we enjoy what we get. Still loved it. Hope to return one day.

Glad to be home. Looking forward to getting back in the Flickr groove and catching up.

Have a rest and cool off. This favorite bench sits on the bank of Glacier's Pray Lake with Never Laughs Mtn, Painted Teepee Peak and Mt. Sinopah rising in the distance.

We might hit triple digits today. Thought a refreshing snow shot might help.

Have a cool and wonderful Friday!
