I believe that is Mt. Ishbel in the distance with the Bow River in the foreground.

I must admit I really really wished a bear, bull moose or bull elk would wander out on that gravel bar and pose for me. I could imagine them looking up waiting for my click. I've seen them several times in this area. Wouldn't that have been nice....! One can dream.....but not this day.

Regardless was a nice landscape shot.

Have a wonderful week!

Looking down on a portion of one of my very favorite places to stay or visit.

Canmore is well-located between Kananaskis Country and Banff National Park. An ideal location for world class photography and stunning views in all directions.

The canal below provides the cities water. It is fed from a reservoir behind me.

Some peaks of the Fairholme Range across the valley.

Enjoy a wonderful weekend!

An evening shot of the Bow river as it flows south below Banff's iconic Castle Mountain.

A mountain with many faces, from many perspectives.

Thanks for taking a look! Always appreciated.

Have a great week!

Dolomite and Watermelon peak as seen from the Icefields Parkway.

Dolomite peak was aptly named after the jagged spires and pinnacles of the Italian Dolomites.

Watermelon peak on the right is called that after J.L. Putnam and friends climbed to the top, hauling up a large watermelon, which they then consumed, celebrating the accomplishment of being the first group to climb it.

That would indeed be refreshing.

Happy Friday!

Same lake, different peaks.
There everywhere on the Icefields Parkway.

Hope your first weekend of the New Year is off to a great start.
