A lovely day to paddle across Upper Kananaskis lake. This driftwood caught my eye as well as those kayakers enjoying the peace and beauty of this special place.

Enjoy a wonderful weekend!

The Canadian Rockies never fail to blow me away with the abundance of magnificent peaks, here, there and everywhere!

Here's a typical long view seen from the Kananaskis Trail (aka Bighorn Hwy, Hwy 40). I believe those are just some of the peaks of the Kananaskis Range.

When here extra memory cards are recommended.

Thanks for taking a look and for any comments, faves and suggestions.

Happy Friday!

Two pointy peaks seen when driving north on Banff's Icefields Parkway.

This perspective shows the horned-shaped tip of Mount Athabasca near the top that is called the "Silverhorn".

Just one of the zillions (OK, billions) of crazy cool peaks seen along this amazing drive.

Have a fabulous Friday and weekend!

Some light breaks thru the cloud cover to illuminate a portion of Banff's iconic Castle Mountain.

"The mountain was named in 1858 by James Hector for its castle-like appearance. From 1946 to 1979 it was known as Mount Eisenhower in honour of the World War II general Dwight D. Eisenhower. Public pressure caused its original name to be restored, but a pinnacle on the southeastern side of the mountain was named Eisenhower Tower (at front here)." Wiki

Watermelon peak is called that after J.L. Putnam and friends climbed to the top, hauling up a large watermelon, which they then consumed, celebrating the accomplishment of being the first group to climb it. Now wouldn't that be a refreshing treat after this challenging climb?

Happy Friday!
