The fog finally cleared on Yellowstone's Dunraven Pass providing a nice southeast view across the fog blanket still covering the Grand Canyon.

Dunraven Pass is the highest Pass in the Park, at almost 8900 feet. Never know what kind of weather you'll experience here.

Was near here as well when I took yesterday's rainbow shot.

A few other shots from around the Pass and Mt. Washburn in comments.

Thanks for taking a look!

Giving THANKS today for all the blessings in my life. And you my dear flickr friends are one of my favorite and most valued blessings. I appreciate each and every one of you for your impressive talents, wonderful friendship and continued support.

This was a memorable dawn in Idaho's Sawtooths, with Mt. McGown catching the early glow nicely reflected in Stanley Lake. Can't wait to return. A few other shots from this trip in the comments.

I've been away from flickr for a bit. Spokane had the worst windstorm in our history. Many still don't have power. Still cleaning up from it. Sad to see so many trees down. We were fortunate, but so many weren't. We're remodeling our top floor, with new paint, flooring, fixtures and bathrooms. Busy times. Hope to return to my daily involvement early next week. I miss you. Remodeling is hard....

Enjoy a most wonderful Thanksgiving!

Wishing my dear Canadian friends a fun and festive Canada Day holiday.
Cheers!

Your country is a photographer's dream. Plus, you won't find more gracious, kind and friendlier folks anywhere.

Mount Rundle is reflected here nicely in Two Jack Lake, near Banff. That point with it's inviting picnic table would be a grand spot for a leasurely afternoon.....

May the rest of you enjoy a wonderful Sunday.

I'm heading out camping with my grandson. Have a great week.

Looking across Glacier Park's Pray Lake at the appealing autumn colors on Rising Wolf Mountain. The wind hadn't come up yet so I was able to capture some good reflections. Miss those colors...

Thank you for your appreciated visits, comments, faves and support.

A view looking SE at Yellowstone's West Thumb Geyser Basin.

West Thumb derived its name from the thumb-like projection of Yellowstone Lake. The name was given by the 1870 Washburn Expedition.

"The West Thumb Geyser Basin is the largest geyser basin on the shores of Yellowstone Lake. West Thumb is about the same size as another famous volcanic caldera, Crater Lake in Oregon, but much smaller than the great Yellowstone Caldera which last erupted about 640,000 years ago. It is interesting to note that West Thumb is a caldera within a caldera."
