An early morning shot of Mt. Sinopah rising nobly above Two Medicine Lake.

The Blackfeet Indians considered the Two Medicine area "The Backbone of the World! They used this portion of what would eventually become Glacier National Park for vision quests and spiritual celebrations.

It is indeed a special area. I agree as this is one of my favorite places to be. I'm overdue for a return....

Have a wonderful Friday and weekend!

Looking down at the distant Two Medicine area of Glacier National Park.

On the left Lake Sherburne's bed is low at autumn. In the middle is the center of this part of the park with Mt. Sinopah rising over Two Medicine lake (images below). Massive Rising Wolf Mountain is on the right.

The region was considered sacred ground by several Native American tribes including the Blackfeet and they performed Vision quests here. Aside from Chief Mountain, the Two Medicine area is the most sacred section of the park to the Blackfeet. Truly a spiritual setting, which I sense as well when here. Two Medicine has become favorite place of mine to camp and hike.

Friday's here! Have a wonderful day and weekend!

Of all the peaks I chase Glacier Park's Mt. Sinopah wins the award for best colors at sunrise (Mt. Rainier's a close second). Few capture the first rays of the sun fully as well as Sinopah.

Couple more examples in comments.

To enhance the experience a nearby small lake, Pray Lake, is frequently calm early in the day to nicely capture reflections of the beauty above. However, that is temporary as the winds here later in the day can be robust and strong.

Thanks for taking a peak peek. Always appreciated!

Of Glacier's Lake McDonald on a fine autumn day. A soul stirring time.

Lake McDonald is Glacier National Park's biggest lake; ten miles long and 472 feet deep. Filling a basin gouged out by Ice Age glaciers, Lake McDonald is a classic glacial feature.

May your week ahead be wonderful!
