Yellowstone's Lewis River carved this impressive canyon on it's way to joining the Snake River.

Named after Meriwether Lewis. However, he didn't pass by here during his Corp of Discovery Expedition to the Pacific coast. They were much further North.

Enjoy a wonderful Sunday!

Thanks for taking a look!

Another beautiful morning at Many Glacier with the day's first light caressing The Garden Wall, Grinnell Point and Mt. Wilbur.

The winds were whistling this fine morning. Not often does one gets water droplets on their lens from a lake....but I did this dawn.

A few other sunrise shots from this favorite place in comments.

Enjoy a wonderful Wednesday!

I'm always impressed with the varied rich colors of the rocks, boulders and mountains of Glacier Park. Pretty much any color can be found there. According to GNP their striking color comes from the small amount of iron in their composition. Red means oxygen was present when the rock formed, green means the atmosphere was lacking oxygen.

Here's an example taken at Many Glacier.

Thanks for taking a look!

Have a wonderful weekend!

I found these jagged peaks fascinating. Sections of Little Switzerland are known as Dragon Spine, The Trolls, etc. Mt. Foraker is right behind them showing it's white cap. Does have a Tolkien "Mordor" look to it.

Mt. Hunter (14,573 ft; 4442 m)‚ÄČ is the 3rd highest mountain in the Alaska Range. Denali and Mt. Foraker are significantly higher. The native name for the mountain is Begguya, meaning "Denali's Child".

"Despite being much lower in elevation than Mount McKinley, Mount Hunter is a more difficult climb, due to its steep faces and corniced ridges." Wiki

As a peak lover this is heaven!

Thank for taking a peak peek!

Alaska's Virgin Creek Falls had a lulling and lovely song coming from it's 3 tumbles, from the chute to the small segmented cascades. I was able to discern and enjoy each one's particular song. Together they made a beautiful symphony of hypnotic harmony. Was hard to leave.

As always, thanks for taking a look!
