A shot from 2010 of a section of one of my favorite hikes (my list is long).

The Highline Trail is an extremely popular hike, and for good reason. At every step, and every turn, hikers will have absolutely spectacular scenery as the Highline follows along the Continental Divide, also known as the Garden Wall in this area. The exceptionally beautiful views, the excellent opportunities for spotting wildlife, and the wildflowers, all combine to make this a hike you'll remember the rest of your life. If you're looking for solitude, however, you won’t find it on this trail. Did I mention it's popular.....

Bird Woman Falls is slightly in view in the hanging valley between Mt. Cannon and Mt. Oberlin. The Valley to the right is the McDonald Creek drainage that leads to McDonald Lake.

A couple hikers are heading my way, if you can spot them.

The Going To The Sun Road opened today. Logan Pass is now accessible. However, bring your own water as the water isn't available yet.

After this record setting winter this is an amazing accomplishment. Opened earlier than I thought it would. Kudos to the outstanding Park road crew that dug out this very steep and treacherous road. Bravo!

Back on the Highline Trail, with Haystack Butte coming up. Bird Woman Falls tumbles 492 feet below. It's song can be heard from here, serenading us along our way. The clouds were constantly changing, adding drama and beauty above and below. No mosquitoes or grizzly bears, but lots of mountain goats, hoary marmots and fellow hikers. A hike I will long remember and cherish.

Two hikers head out on the beginning/end of the Highline Trail. The Garden Wall (Continental Divide) runs along the right side. We end our trek thru alpine heaven along the Highline Trail with this image. I sincerely appreciate your companionship, great remarks and support along the way.
