This is one of the views seen from the other side of the Overlook Trail shown yesterday. Much to enjoy at Oregon's Painted Hills.

I liked that lone tree in it's colorful setting, with that blond-topped red hill beyond.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

This pine seed drifted to a really harsh spot to sprout, but is standing tall and surviving in Oregon's Newberry Volcanic Monument, not far from Lava Butte along the Trail of the Molten Lands. A fascinating region full of captivating geology and history.

Framing this lone pine is Mt. Bachelor, S Sister, Broken Top, Middle Sister. Volcanoes all.

Have a wonderful week!

An old solo snag hangs on above Glacier Park's Swiftcurrent Creek at sunrise.

Old trees like this move me....old weathered survivors holding on far past their prime. When I return to favorite spots like this I seek out old friends that I've shared time and beautiful experiences with, like I did on this fine morning in the dark listening to Swiftcurrent Falls below as I patiently waited for first light to appear.

Not sure what kind of tree this is/was. Any ideas?

Wishing you All a wonderful Easter weekend!

It always impresses me how trees can root and survive in such hard and harsh locations. This old (I believe) bristlecone pine fascinated me with it's roots on, around and thru this block of rock sitting above Banff's Bow Falls. It appeared quite healthy. Perhaps having such a grand view helps.

Not a bristlecone pine, not found in AB (thanks Robert!). Mystery continues.

Have a treeific Tuesday!

Trees for Tuesday
Various mosses and lichens cover almost everything in Washington's Hoh Rainforest. These two trees caught my eye while hiking the Spruce Tree trail. Such a special place.
Thanks for taking a look!
