Snowing today, felt like sharing some color. This colorful hauler was seen at windy Marias Pass.

"Red Jammers are buses used at Glacier National Park in the United States to transport park visitors. While the buses are called reds, the bus drivers are called jammers because of the sound the gears made when the driver shifts on the steep roads of the park. The "jamming" sound came from the unsynchronised transmissions, where double-clutching was a must.

They were manufactured as the Model 706 by the White Motor Company from 1936-1939. The distinctive vehicles, with roll-back canvas convertible tops allow riders to enjoy the many peaks that hug the roads. Glacier National Park still operates 33 of these unique vehicles." Wikipedia

Well off to shovel snow....which I actually enjoy. Until later in the winter.....

Have a most wonderful weekend!

Something other than a landscape or critter shot today.

This classic cool cruiser looked like it just rolled off the assembly line. What a beauty. Seen in Victoria BC.

May you cruise thru a fabulous Friday and weekend!

While enjoying the beauty of Yukon's Kluane Lake this unique rig pulled in. What a special camper! I enjoyed visiting with Guillaume and Jenna about their home on the road. They were now living in this small home and experiencing the wide and wild world instead of the usual big home, mortgage and debts. They had built it from scratch themselves. It didn't seem that large on the outside but was quite homey, cozy and comfy on the inside. In many ways nicer and more comfy and complete than my modern truck camper. Impressive trailer and very impressive couple.

Further down the AlCan Highway thru the Donjek and White river sections were the worst roads I've ever experienced. A nightmare driving the dozens of miles of deep deep potholes that could not be avoided. 5-10 mph max without losing teeth. Was worried that their tiny home would shake apart, but was glad to see on line that they did indeed build it strong and sturdy and toured Alaska.

FYI, just google the title and you'll find much information about them and their journeys.

Wouldn't that be a tempting way to experience life?

A shot of a rare WWII Flying Fortress at Spokane's Felts Field. Was a treat to watch it fly in and explore.

"In 2013, N3701G was sold to the Erickson Collection, an aviation museum in Madras Oregon. Restored to her combat configuration and painted in the colors of the 381st Bomb Group, and sporting the Madras Maiden nose-art, N3701G flies today to honor our veterans, educate current and future generations as to the high price of freedom and to preserve our aviation heritage."

Karen and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch with a rather grand view while parked here under Hurricane Ridge. We spent most of the day here. So much variety in Olympic National Park, from rainforests to beaches to waterfalls to wildlife to majestic mountains.

Thanks for taking a look. Always appreciated!
